“I am not a celebrity hairstylist. I am a hairstylist who happens to have the opportunity to work with many wonderful celebrities.” Those humble words come from Tippi Shorter, recently named Aveda Global Artistic Director, Textured Hair.
Shorter began her hair styling journey in Long Beach, California, and over the years has brought her signature big, sexy (and of course healthy) hair to the heads of style icons such as Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson, Rihanna and Lady GaGa, among other actresses, musicians and supermodels.
Shorter began her professional career with Aveda in her first official stylist position at an Aveda Concept Salon in New York City. Almost 20 years later, she joins the Aveda Global Artistic Team.
“I understood then Aveda’s dedication to education and customer service, and that never left me. So it only makes sense that I have come full circle and will help relay that message to the next generation,” says Shorter.
